PM Modi Vows Strict Action Against Conspirators Behind Delhi Red Fort Blast That Killed 13

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday vowed that the perpetrators of the Delhi Red Fort blast, which killed 13 people and injured several others on Monday evening, would be brought to justice. Speaking from Thimphu, Bhutan, where he is on a two-day state visit, the Prime Minister said the incident had deeply pained the nation and that the government was closely monitoring the investigation.

“Today, I come here with a very heavy heart. The horrific incident that took place in Delhi yesterday evening has deeply saddened everyone. I understand the grief of the affected families. The entire nation stands with them today,” PM Modi said.

He added, “I was in touch with all the agencies investigating this incident throughout last night. Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy. The conspirators behind this will not be spared. All those responsible will be brought to justice.”

Rajnath Singh Warns of ‘Harshest Punishment’

Earlier in the day, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also issued a stern warning, assuring the nation that those behind the attack will face the “harshest punishment.”

Speaking at the Delhi Defence Dialogue, organised by the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (MP-IDSA), Singh said:
“I want to firmly assure the nation that those responsible for this tragedy will be brought to justice and will not be spared under any circumstances.”

Blast Near Red Fort: Delhi on High Alert

The explosion occurred near the historic Red Fort complex on Monday evening, causing widespread panic among visitors and locals.

The Delhi Police has registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Explosives Act. The area was immediately cordoned off, and teams from the Special Cell, Crime Branch, and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) were dispatched to investigate the site.

Security has been tightened across the national capital, with heightened checks at airports, railway stations, and bus terminals.

Two men, identified as Salman and Devender, both former owners of the car involved in the blast, have been detained for questioning, officials confirmed.

Amit Shah: ‘All Possibilities Being Probed’

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Monday night that the incident is being investigated from “all possible angles.”
“The results of the investigation will be presented before the public soon,” Shah said, adding that central agencies were coordinating closely with Delhi Police and state security units.

Nation in Mourning

The blast, which struck one of Delhi’s most iconic landmarks, has shocked the country. Leaders across political lines have expressed condolences to the families of the victims and urged unity in the face of the tragedy.

As investigations continue, security agencies remain on high alert across major cities, amid calls for enhanced intelligence coordination and stronger counter-terror measures.
