Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Friday and held discussions on the state’s law and order situation, internal security and ongoing flood management.
During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed the prevailing law and order scenario in Odisha and discussed measures to further strengthen policing, governance and internal security across the state.
Discussions on New Odisha DGP
According to sources, the meeting also included discussions on the appointment of Odisha’s next Director General of Police (DGP).
The Chief Minister and the Union Home Minister are also understood to have reviewed the flood situation in the state, with Odisha seeking the Centre’s support for relief and rehabilitation efforts in the affected districts.
Railway Infrastructure Development Discussed
Later, Chief Minister Majhi met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to discuss the expansion of railway infrastructure in Odisha.
The meeting focused on the implementation of new railway projects, expansion of rail connectivity and strengthening transportation infrastructure to improve connectivity across the state.
The two leaders also discussed measures to accelerate ongoing railway projects and enhance connectivity to support Odisha’s economic and industrial growth.
Centre’s Support Key to Odisha’s Growth: CM Majhi
Speaking after the meetings, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said Odisha is steadily progressing towards becoming a prosperous state with the continued support and cooperation of the Central Government.
He expressed confidence that stronger collaboration between the Centre and the State would help accelerate infrastructure development, improve connectivity and contribute significantly to Odisha’s overall growth.
