Veteran Bollywood icon Dharmendra was posthumously conferred the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award, in recognition of his extraordinary contribution to Indian cinema.
The award was received by his wife, actress and parliamentarian Hema Malini, during the Civil Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on May 25. Dharmendra, who had previously received the Padma Bhushan in 2012, remains one of the most celebrated actors in Indian film history, with a career spanning several decades and numerous blockbuster films.
His contribution to Indian cinema, both as a performer and cultural icon, continues to inspire generations of actors and film enthusiasts.
Satish Shah Honoured with Padma Shri
Acclaimed actor and comedian Satish Shah was also honoured posthumously with the Padma Shri for his contribution to the entertainment industry.
