CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation Portal to Go Live Soon After Technical Glitches, Board Deploys Cybersecurity Experts

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that its Class 12 post-result verification and re-evaluation portal, which was initially scheduled to become operational on June 1, will be activated shortly after addressing technical issues that delayed its launch.

The delay has triggered concerns among students and parents, particularly amid reports of glitches during the answer-sheet access process and ongoing questions regarding the board’s new digital evaluation system.

According to CBSE, the decision to postpone the launch was taken to ensure a transparent, secure and error-free process for students seeking verification of marks and re-evaluation of answer books.

CBSE Assures Transparent Re-evaluation Process

In an official statement, the board said the portal is being prepared with enhanced safeguards to maintain the highest standards of evaluation and data security.

“In order to ensure a transparent and glitch-free process for verification and re-evaluation of answer books of students who intend to submit their applications on the Post-Result Activities portal, it has been decided that the designated portal will now be operational from June 1, 2026. This is to ensure the highest standards and protocols of evaluation,” CBSE stated.

The board has also advised students facing difficulties to seek assistance through the CBSE Tele-Counselling Helpline at 1800 11 8004 or via email support.

Cybersecurity Team Deployed to Secure OnMark Portal

Amid growing scrutiny over its digital evaluation infrastructure, CBSE revealed that it has deployed a specialised team of cybersecurity experts from various government agencies and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) to strengthen the security of the OnMark portal used by its service provider.

The board said it has been closely monitoring vulnerabilities highlighted in the public domain and has already taken steps to contain identified risks.

According to CBSE, the expert team has been working continuously to fortify the system and migrate critical operations to a more secure environment. The board also stated that efforts are underway to identify and eliminate any remaining exploitable weaknesses.

CBSE Acknowledges Role of Ethical Hackers

In a notable move, CBSE thanked alert citizens and ethical hackers who flagged potential security vulnerabilities in the system.

The board said it had directly engaged with some individuals who reported issues and appreciated their contribution in strengthening the platform’s security framework.

“We have been closely monitoring the vulnerabilities in the OnMark portal of our service provider that are being flagged in the public domain. An expert team of cybersecurity professionals has been deployed over the last few days from across various arms of the government as well as the IITs to fortify these systems,” CBSE said.

Pressure Mounts Over Evaluation Concerns

The latest development comes at a time when CBSE is facing increasing pressure over reports of technical failures in its post-result services and allegations of discrepancies in evaluated answer sheets.

Several students had raised concerns regarding access to scanned answer sheets and inconsistencies observed during the post-result review process. The board has maintained that it is taking all necessary steps to ensure transparency, accountability and accuracy in the evaluation system.

With thousands of students awaiting the commencement of post-result activities, CBSE is expected to activate the portal soon after completing the required technical and security upgrades.
