Gopalpur Industrial Park Attracts Rs 65,400 Crore Investment Pipeline, Emerges As Green Manufacturing Hub

The Gopalpur Industrial Park (GIP) in Odisha’s Ganjam district is rapidly emerging as a major destination for green energy, advanced manufacturing and low-carbon industries, with a cumulative investment pipeline exceeding Rs 65,400 crore, according to Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Ltd (TSSEZL).

Developed by TSSEZL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel, the industrial park has attracted a diverse range of proposed and ongoing projects spanning green hydrogen, renewable energy equipment, speciality chemicals, tyres, mineral processing and food processing.

Green Ammonia Project To Boost Gopalpur’s Clean Energy Push

A proposed green ammonia project is among the latest developments at the industrial park. The project follows a memorandum of cooperation involving the Odisha government, Japan’s IHI Corporation, ACME Group and TSSEZL.

The proposed facility is expected to include a 0.4 million tonne per annum green ammonia plant along with a jetty-less floating terminal at Gopalpur Industrial Park.

The project could further strengthen the region’s role in the emerging green energy economy while creating opportunities for clean-energy-linked industries and supporting infrastructure.

Rs 10,000 Crore Solar Manufacturing Project Planned

Gopalpur’s renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem is also set to expand with a proposed Rs 10,000 crore solar ingot and wafer manufacturing project.

TSSEZL and Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd have signed a binding land transfer agreement for the project, adding another major investment to the park’s growing portfolio.

Solar ingots and wafers are important components in the photovoltaic manufacturing chain, and the proposed facility could contribute to the development of a stronger domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem.

Major Industrial Projects Taking Shape

Several companies have already established or announced projects at GIP. These include Avaada GreenH2, Ocior Energy, Hygenco, Saatvik Solar Industries, World Green Energy, SRF, ATC Tires and Tata Steel.

The projects cover multiple sectors, providing Gopalpur with a diversified industrial base rather than dependence on a single manufacturing segment.

TSSEZL Managing Director Manikanta Naik said the company’s vision of developing Gopalpur as a globally competitive industrial destination was taking shape, supported by government-backed infrastructure for essential utilities such as power and water.

Nearly 3,000 Acres With Integrated Infrastructure

Gopalpur Industrial Park is spread across approximately 2,970 acres and has been developed with infrastructure aimed at facilitating large-scale industrial investment.

The park provides internal roads, power and water supply, drainage facilities, environmental clearances and multi-modal connectivity. Such infrastructure is intended to reduce the time and investment required for companies to establish manufacturing facilities.

Recognition For Smart Industrial Development

The industrial park was recently recognised with the Smart Industrial Park award by Maritime Gateway at the Smart Logistics Summit & Awards 2026 held in Bhubaneswar.

The recognition comes as GIP expands its industrial portfolio and positions itself as a potential hub for clean-energy manufacturing and other emerging industries.

Investment Could Generate Jobs And Boost Odisha’s Industrial Economy

The growing investment pipeline is expected to generate both direct and indirect employment opportunities in Ganjam and surrounding areas.

With projects spanning green hydrogen, solar manufacturing, speciality chemicals, tyres and other industries, Gopalpur Industrial Park is increasingly becoming an important part of Odisha’s strategy to attract high-value manufacturing and clean-energy investments.

The development could also strengthen Odisha’s position as a preferred destination for companies seeking to establish low-carbon manufacturing facilities and participate in the rapidly expanding green economy.
