Odisha CM Mohan Majhi Courts Investors During Gujarat Visit

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is on a three-day visit to Gujarat, where he is holding a series of meetings with leading industrialists and business groups to attract fresh investments into Odisha.

The visit is part of the state government’s broader strategy to strengthen Odisha’s industrial ecosystem, expand employment opportunities, and position the state as a preferred destination for new investments across sectors.

During the visit, Majhi has been participating in roundtable discussions and one-on-one interactions with investors, showcasing Odisha’s improving infrastructure, policy support, and business-friendly environment. He has highlighted the state’s efforts to accelerate industrial growth while ensuring balanced regional development.

Speaking during the interactions, the Chief Minister said the Odisha government is focused on translating industrial expansion into large-scale job creation, especially for the youth. He stressed that the administration is committed to creating long-term economic opportunities while improving the welfare of people across the state.

Majhi is accompanied by Sampad Swain and Anu Garg, who are also taking part in discussions with investors and industry representatives.

The outreach in Gujarat comes at a time when Odisha is intensifying efforts to attract domestic and global capital into key sectors such as manufacturing, infrastructure, logistics, mining, renewable energy, and value-added industries. Officials believe that sustained investor engagement can help the state accelerate industrialisation and generate fresh economic momentum.

Majhi’s Gujarat visit also comes shortly after the Bharatiya Janata Party appointed him as co-observer, alongside Union Home Minister Amit Shah, for the election of the legislature party leader in West Bengal.

According to a statement issued by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh, the appointment underlines the political significance of the ongoing developments in West Bengal. However, Majhi’s current focus in Gujarat remains firmly on investment promotion and strengthening Odisha’s industrial roadmap.

The state government sees this investor outreach as a critical step toward boosting industrial output, creating employment, and reinforcing Odisha’s ambition to emerge as one of India’s fastest-growing economic hubs.
