The horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla has emerged as a major box office success, crossing the ₹200 crore mark globally within 13 days of release. The film, which marks the much-awaited reunion of Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan, achieved the milestone on the strength of steady second-week collections.
Strong Domestic Performance
Released on April 17 with paid previews a day earlier, the film opened to a solid response:
- ₹58 crore net in India during the opening weekend
- Crossed ₹100 crore on its second Saturday
- Added ₹3.50 crore on Day 13
So far, Bhooth Bangla has collected approximately:
- ₹124.50 crore net in India
- ₹147.90 crore gross domestically
While weekday collections have slowed, trade analysts expect a slight jump over the third weekend, though upcoming releases may impact its momentum.
Overseas Collections Add to Total
The film has also delivered a decent performance internationally:
- Earned around $1 million over Days 2 and 3
- Total overseas gross stands at $5.6 million after 13 days
However, collections abroad have started to decline, with daily earnings dropping below $80,000. Despite this, the film is expected to touch the $6 million mark before completing its theatrical run.
Eyes on ₹300 Crore Milestone
With a worldwide gross of ₹200 crore, Bhooth Bangla becomes:
- The third Hindi film of 2026 to cross the mark
- The sixth Indian film overall to achieve this feat
The film is now eyeing the ₹300 crore milestone, although competition from upcoming releases like The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Raja Shivaji could pose challenges.
Targeting Next Box Office Benchmarks
Bhooth Bangla is also close to surpassing the lifetime collection of The RajaSaab (₹208 crore), which would further strengthen its position among the year’s top performers.
