The Raja Saab Box Office Collection Day 6: Horror-Comedy Sees Midweek Spike, Total Nears ₹125 Crore

Directed by Maruthi, Prabhas-starrer The Raja Saab witnessed a slight resurgence at the domestic box office on Day 6 (Wednesday), registering a midweek spike after a steady decline in collections over the previous days. Despite the recovery, the horror-comedy has earned less than ₹125 crore so far in India, falling short of early expectations for a festive release.

According to early estimates, The Raja Saab earned ₹5.25 crore nett on Day 6 across all languages, taking its total domestic collection to ₹124.65 crore. The film recorded an overall Telugu occupancy of 25.33% on Wednesday, indicating moderate footfall, particularly in core Telugu markets.

Performance Trends and Market Response

After an explosive opening weekend, The Raja Saab experienced a sharp drop from Day 4 onwards, a trend commonly seen in high-budget festive releases. However, the slight uptick on Day 6 suggests that positive word-of-mouth among family audiences and fans of the horror-comedy genre may be helping the film sustain its run.

While Telugu markets continue to contribute the lion’s share of the revenue, the Hindi version has shown relatively stable performance, especially in urban centres. Collections from Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions remain limited.

Prabhas on the Film and Its Creative Vision

Earlier, Prabhas spoke candidly about his motivation behind choosing The Raja Saab, highlighting his desire to move away from action-heavy roles.

“When I first met Maruthi garu, I told him that films were becoming too action-oriented and that we should give audiences a proper entertainer. That is how this horror-comedy took shape,” Prabhas said.

He also praised producer Vishwa Prasad for backing the script with confidence and expressed admiration for Maruthi’s writing, particularly the climax.

“When I heard the climax, I became a fan of Maruthi garu’s writing. I honestly wondered whether he wrote it with a pen or a machine gun. Such a climax hasn’t come even in horror-comedy films,” he added.

Calling it “full Darling entertainment” after 15 years, Prabhas expressed hope that the film would benefit from the festive season, saying he wished for all Sankranti releases—including The Raja Saab—to perform well at the box office.

Outlook

With the first week nearing its end, all eyes are now on the second weekend performance, which will be crucial in determining whether The Raja Saab can cross the ₹150 crore mark domestically and regain momentum. While the film has not yet lived up to blockbuster expectations, its steady hold and genre appeal may help it sustain in the coming days.
