Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Warehousing Corporation (OSWC) has paid a dividend of ₹2,88,37,913 to the Odisha government for the financial year 2023-24, reflecting the corporation’s strong financial performance.
The dividend was formally handed over to Cooperation, Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Minister Pradeep Bal Samanta at his office on Monday.
Cooperation Department Commissioner-cum-Secretary Rajesh Prabhakar Patil and OSWC Managing Director Mihir Prasad Mohanty were also present during the handover.
OSWC Records Over ₹19 Crore Profit
According to reports, OSWC recorded a total profit of ₹19,22,52,751 during 2023-24.
Based on its financial performance, the corporation declared a dividend equivalent to 30 per cent of its total profit, amounting to ₹5,76,75,826.
The dividend was distributed equally between OSWC’s two stakeholders — the Government of Odisha and the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC).
As a result, both stakeholders received ₹2,88,37,913 each.
Corporation Operates 68 Warehouses Across Odisha
Established in 1958, the Odisha State Warehousing Corporation plays an important role in providing storage infrastructure for agricultural and other commodities across the state.
The corporation currently has a total storage capacity of approximately 5,21,600 metric tonnes and operates 68 warehouses across all 30 districts of Odisha.
The extensive warehousing network supports the storage and management of commodities while helping strengthen the state’s agricultural supply chain.
OSWC Maintains Record of Dividend Payments
OSWC has continued to generate profits through the effective utilisation of its warehousing capacity and has regularly distributed dividends to its two stakeholders.
For the financial year 2022-23, each stakeholder received a dividend of ₹81,59,845.
In 2021-22, the dividend paid to each stakeholder stood at ₹3,40,64,105.
The corporation had also paid ₹4,36,31,251 each to the Odisha government and the Central Warehousing Corporation for both 2019-20 and 2020-21.
Officials Present at Dividend Handover
Several senior officials were present during the handover ceremony, including Personal Secretary Pitambar Samal, OSWC Secretary-cum-Finance Advisor Smitanjali Swain, General Manager Trupti Kalyan Sethi and Senior Superintendent Prabhat Kumar Parida.
The latest dividend payout underlines the corporation’s financial performance and its continuing contribution to the state’s warehousing and agricultural infrastructure.
