CM Mohan Majhi Launches Internship and Community Service Guidelines
The Guidelines for Internship and Community Services were officially launched by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on May 2, 2026, under the Higher Education Department. The initiative makes internships and community service activities an essential, credit-bearing component of undergraduate education.
Officials stated that the programme is designed to help students develop professional competencies, improve problem-solving abilities, and gain practical insights into various sectors before entering the workforce.
Over 86,000 Students Placed in Structured Internships
According to official data, approximately 86,500 students from the first batch have already been placed in structured internship programmes across multiple sectors.
Students are currently undergoing internships in:

- Educational institutions and schools
- Industrial units and manufacturing sectors
- Logistics and supply chain companies
- Retail businesses

Community Service Activities Engage Nearly 60,000 Students
Apart from internships, around 59,500 students have been engaged in community service programmes aimed at strengthening social responsibility and grassroots-level engagement.

Special Internship Opportunities for Humanities Students
One of the unique aspects of the programme is the creation of specialised internship pathways for students pursuing subjects such as Odia Literature, History, Sanskrit, and other humanities disciplines.
