New Delhi: In a significant demonstration centered on education reforms and examination transparency, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Saturday organized a large-scale protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged lapses in examinations and recruitment processes.
The protest, led by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, witnessed participation from hundreds of students, parents, young professionals, educators, and social activists. Security arrangements were tightened around the protest venue as large crowds gathered carrying placards, flowers, and symbolic cockroach masks.
Abhijeet Dipke Targets Education System
Addressing supporters, Abhijeet Dipke said the movement had been raising concerns regarding examination irregularities and student issues for several weeks.
He alleged that voices questioning the education system were being ignored and reiterated the party’s demand for accountability in matters related to competitive examinations, recruitment tests, and student welfare.
According to Dipke, the protest is part of a larger nationwide campaign aimed at highlighting issues affecting students, job aspirants, and parents across the country.
Key Demands Raised During the Protest
The demonstrators put forward several demands concerning education, examinations, and student welfare.
1. Resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan
The primary demand of the protesters was the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in examinations and recruitment-related processes.
Protesters raised slogans calling for accountability and reforms within the education system.
2. Fair and Transparent Competitive Examinations
Many participants highlighted concerns regarding examination credibility, including allegations linked to question paper leaks and irregularities in national-level entrance examinations.
Several students and parents emphasized the need for a robust and transparent examination mechanism that protects the interests of genuine candidates.
3. Review of Education Digitalisation
Participants also discussed the rapid digitalisation of educational systems, examinations, and evaluation processes.
While supporting technological advancement, protesters argued that digital reforms should be implemented only after adequate training of teachers, administrators, and educational institutions to prevent technical issues and operational failures.
4. Restoration of Normal Educational Activities in Manipur
Some participants expressed concern over the prolonged disruption of educational activities in Manipur due to ongoing unrest.
They called for measures to ensure uninterrupted access to schools, colleges, and academic institutions for students in conflict-affected regions.
5. Student Mental Health and Accountability
Mental health emerged as a major issue during the protest.
Participants stressed the need for stronger support systems for students dealing with examination pressure, academic stress, and career uncertainty. They also demanded greater accountability from authorities in cases involving examination-related controversies.
Youth Participation Marks the Protest
The demonstration witnessed substantial participation from young people, including school students, college students, competitive examination aspirants, and young professionals.
Many attendees stated that they joined the protest because it focused on issues directly impacting students and families.
Parents accompanying students also voiced concerns regarding the increasing pressure associated with competitive examinations and the importance of maintaining trust in educational institutions.
Slogans Raised at Jantar Mantar
Throughout the protest, participants raised slogans demanding reforms and accountability in the education sector.
Apart from calls for the resignation of the Education Minister, slogans focused on examination transparency, student rights, educational justice, and institutional accountability.
The gathering remained largely peaceful under the supervision of law enforcement authorities deployed at the venue.
Growing Debate on Examination Reforms
The protest comes amid ongoing discussions across the country regarding examination integrity, recruitment processes, digital evaluation systems, and student welfare.
Recent controversies surrounding examination management, evaluation mechanisms, and competitive recruitment tests have intensified demands for stronger oversight and greater transparency in educational governance.
As the movement gains attention, observers believe the issues raised by students and parents could contribute to broader conversations on education reforms, examination security, and mental health support for aspirants.
