GANJAM: In a major Odisha Govt. Initiative aimed at social welfare, the Ganjam District Administration organized a grand communal marriage ceremony under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivaha Yojana. The event, held at the sacred Bhairabi Temple in Golanthara, saw 111 couples exchange vows in a dignified ceremony.
Direct Financial Support for Brides
As part of this state-led welfare program, significant financial provisions have been made to support the newlyweds in their new journey:
Direct Bank Transfer: Each bride will receive ₹45,000 credited directly to their bank account.
Marriage Material: Along with the cash incentive, the administration provided essential wedding gifts and household items worth ₹15,000 to every couple.
A Landmark Odisha Govt. Initiative

Initiative acts as a powerful tool against social challenges like the dowry system and child marriage by providing a respectful, government-supported alternative for families.

A New Beginning with Dignity
The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt thanks to the state authorities. By participating in this communal marriage, 111 families have been able to celebrate these unions with social honor and financial stability, highlighting the success of the government’s commitment to its citizens.
