India secured the women’s kabaddi gold medal after defeating Iran 37-34 in a closely fought final.

Indian squash player Anahat Singh produced one of the most dramatic performances of the competition by overcoming Japan’s world No. 6 Satomi Watanabe in the women’s singles semifinal.
Anahat lost the opening two games but refused to concede the contest. She saved match points while trailing 10-7 in the third game before beginning a remarkable turnaround.

The Indian eventually won the match 3-2, with game scores of 9-11, 11-13, 12-10, 11-6 and 11-3.
The comeback took Anahat into the women’s singles squash final, giving India another opportunity to compete for a gold medal in the event.
India Add Squash Bronze
India also secured a bronze medal in squash, further strengthening its medal tally in the sport.

In boxing, Kapil Pokhariya advanced to the men’s 90kg quarter-finals after recording a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Iran’s Sam Estaki in the Round of 16.

Pokhariya controlled the bout to secure a unanimous decision and move into the last eight.
He is set to face either South Korea’s Kim Gichae or Pakistan’s Irfan Khan in the quarter-final.
