The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a revision in the FASTag Annual Pass fee for the financial year 2026–27. The fee has been increased from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075, and the revised rate will come into effect from April 1, 2026.
The updated fee will apply to non-commercial vehicles with a valid FASTag that opt for the annual pass facility at around 1,150 toll plazas on national highways and expressways across India.
Revision Based on Government Rules
According to NHAI, the fee revision has been implemented in line with the provisions of the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008, which governs toll charges on national highways.
Benefits of the FASTag Annual Pass
The FASTag Annual Pass allows private vehicle owners to travel through toll plazas by paying a single annual fee, eliminating the need for frequent toll payments or recharges.
Key features of the pass include:
-
Valid for one year from the date of activation or up to 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever occurs earlier
-
Linked directly to the existing FASTag installed on the vehicle
-
Activation within two hours after payment
How to Purchase the Pass
Users can purchase or activate the FASTag Annual Pass through the Rajmargyatra App or via the official NHAI website.
Growing Adoption Among Highway Users
The FASTag Annual Pass was introduced on August 15, 2025, and has gained significant traction among highway commuters. According to NHAI, over 56 lakh users have already opted for the facility, which aims to provide faster, smoother, and more cost-effective travel on national highways.
The initiative is part of the government’s broader push toward digital toll collection and seamless highway travel across India.
