‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ Sets Premiere Booking Record with ₹12.29 Crore Advance Sales

With just days left for its theatrical release, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is already creating waves at the box office. The sequel to the blockbuster Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, has set a new benchmark with record-breaking advance bookings for its preview shows.

Record Advance Bookings for Premiere Shows

Advance ticket sales for the film opened on March 7 shortly after the trailer release at 11:01 AM. Within the first 24 hours, the film sold around 87,000 tickets on BookMyShow alone.

By the morning of March 9, the numbers had surged dramatically, crossing 1.5 lakh tickets on BookMyShow and more than 2 lakh tickets overall across platforms.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has already sold 2.06 lakh tickets for preview shows nationwide, generating ₹12.29 crore in advance bookings.

While the majority of the revenue has come from the Hindi version, the Tamil dubbed version has also performed better than expected, collecting nearly ₹10 lakh from preview show bookings.

Beats Previous Premiere Record

With ₹12.29 crore already earned from preview shows, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has set a new record for the highest premiere-show collections for a Bollywood film, surpassing the ₹10 crore benchmark set by Stree 2.

Industry observers believe the figure could rise further, as the preview screenings scheduled for March 18 are still more than a week away.

Advance Sales Higher Than Opening Day of Many Films

Interestingly, the film’s preview-show collections have already exceeded the opening-day box office numbers of several recent Bollywood releases.

For instance, Shahid Kapoor’s film O Romeo opened with just over ₹9 crore in India, while Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 4 recorded an opening day collection of around ₹12 crore last year.

With the film already breaking records even before its official release, industry analysts expect Dhurandhar: The Revenge to deliver one of the biggest openings of the year when it hits theatres later this month.
