Odisha Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari was referred to All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi on Thursday for advanced medical care following treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar for a heart-related ailment.
According to sources, the minister was admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar after experiencing chest pain. He remained under medical observation for several days, during which doctors conducted preliminary evaluations and provided necessary treatment.
Referred for Specialised Evaluation
Medical authorities advised that he seek further evaluation and specialised cardiac care at AIIMS New Delhi, citing the availability of advanced facilities and comprehensive diagnostic support at the premier institute.
The decision to refer the minister was taken as a precautionary step to ensure access to specialised treatment and detailed assessment by senior cardiology experts.
After being discharged from AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Pujari departed for New Delhi at around 9:00 am on Thursday. He left from Biju Patnaik International Airport on a scheduled flight.
Condition Stable
Sources indicated that the minister’s condition had not worsened during his hospitalisation in Bhubaneswar and was reported to be stable at the time of referral. Doctors recommended continuation of treatment in Delhi following consultations among attending specialists.
Officials described the transfer as part of a proactive medical approach to ensure the minister receives the best possible care.
