Governor Attends 22nd Annual Celebration of Koshal Andhra Cultural Association
Dr Kambhampati attended the 22nd annual celebration of the Koshal Andhra Cultural Association at Ananda Kalyan Mandap in Attabira. The event highlighted the longstanding cultural connections between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh and the importance of preserving regional traditions.
Members of the association continue to observe festivals and customs associated with both Odia and Andhra cultural heritage. The annual celebration provided an opportunity to recognise these shared traditions and strengthen cultural ties among communities.
Bala Subramanyam Dora, Secretary of the Koshal Andhra Cultural Association, spoke about the organisation’s efforts to maintain its cultural roots while celebrating local traditions.
“One is our Odia festival, which we celebrate, and we also continue to observe our traditions rooting from Andhra. On this occasion, the Governor extended his heartfelt best wishes to everyone,” Dora said.
The Governor’s participation underscored the role of cultural organisations in maintaining traditional practices and fostering a sense of community among people from different regional backgrounds.
STEM Lab and Aeromodelling Training Centre Inaugurated
As part of his visit to Bargarh, the Governor inaugurated a STEM laboratory and an aeromodelling training centre at a private school in Nuankhairpali under the Boeing Sukanya Programme.
The facilities are intended to encourage students to explore scientific concepts through practical learning and exposure to technology. STEM education integrates science, technology, engineering and mathematics, helping students develop analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities and an understanding of real-world applications.
The aeromodelling training centre is focused on introducing students to the principles of aircraft design, flight and aviation-related technology. Such learning opportunities can help young learners develop curiosity about engineering and other technical fields.
The inauguration marked an important step towards expanding access to modern educational facilities and encouraging students to consider careers in science, technology and innovation.
Governor Highlights Women’s Empowerment Through Education
Speaking about the initiative, Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati emphasised the importance of nurturing and empowering girls through education and access to opportunities.
“Today’s inauguration is therefore a meaningful step towards Nari Shakti, towards nurturing, enabling and empowering our daughters to become creators, innovators, and leaders of tomorrow. The word Sukanya gives this initiative a special significance,” he said.
His remarks highlighted the connection between education, women’s empowerment and the development of future generations. Providing girls with access to scientific learning and technical training can help them explore opportunities in fields that require specialised skills and knowledge.
The Boeing Sukanya Programme initiative at the school brings attention to the importance of creating educational environments where students can gain practical exposure to emerging technologies and develop confidence in their abilities.
Attabira MLA Welcomes Governor’s Focus on Odisha’s Development
Nihar Mahanand, MLA from Attabira, welcomed the Governor’s visit and highlighted his emphasis on the overall development of Odisha and the welfare of its people.
According to Mahanand, the Governor also referred to the importance of farmers’ welfare during his interaction in Attabira.
“The Governor emphasised how he can contribute to the overall development of Odisha and the welfare of its people. During his welcome in Attabira today, he also stated that the government would focus on the welfare of farmers. We are very happy about this,” Mahanand said.
Agriculture remains an important part of the state’s economy, making farmers’ welfare a significant issue for communities across Odisha. The MLA’s remarks reflected the importance attached to development and agricultural well-being during the Governor’s visit.
Visit Highlights Cultural Preservation and Modern Education
The Governor’s visit to Bargarh brought together two important themes: the preservation of cultural heritage and the promotion of modern education.
The annual celebration of the Koshal Andhra Cultural Association highlighted the continuing role of community organisations in protecting regional traditions. Meanwhile, the inauguration of the STEM lab and aeromodelling training centre focused on providing students with opportunities to learn about science, engineering and aviation.
Together, the programmes reflected the importance of balancing cultural identity with educational progress. By encouraging scientific learning and supporting cultural activities, such initiatives can help strengthen community engagement while preparing students for future opportunities.
The visit also brought attention to wider development priorities, including women’s empowerment, student education and farmers’ welfare in Odisha.
