Film Gains Momentum After Slow Start
Although Hanuman Ansh reportedly opened at a slower pace, its performance improved as more viewers began recommending the film. The reported Rs 143.13 crore collection reflects the impact of its word-of-mouth reception.
The film’s spiritual subject and its portrayal of Neem Karoli Baba have helped it attract audiences interested in stories centred around faith, devotion and spiritual teachings.
Its growing box-office performance has also brought greater visibility to the film and its creative team.
Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Also Attended Screening
The film had earlier received attention from Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who attended a special screening.
Following the screening, Dhami praised the movie as a spiritual film worth watching and spoke about its connection with Kainchi Dham, a prominent spiritual destination in Uttarakhand associated with Neem Karoli Baba.
He also announced that Hanuman Ansh would be made tax-free in Uttarakhand, further highlighting the state’s association with the subject portrayed in the film.
The announcement came after the Chief Minister’s positive response to the film and its depiction of the spiritual journey and teachings associated with Neem Karoli Baba.
What Is Hanuman Ansh About?
Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh is based on the life, philosophy and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, affectionately referred to by his devotees as Maharaj Ji.
Neem Karoli Baba is regarded by his followers as a spiritual master, with many devotees believing him to be an incarnation of Lord Hanuman. His teachings and simple approach to spirituality form the central theme of the movie.
Rather than focusing solely on conventional biographical storytelling, the film attempts to portray the spiritual influence of Neem Karoli Baba and the impact of his teachings on those who followed him.
A Story Built Around Spirituality and Simplicity
The film presents Baba as a spiritual figure who remains detached from worldly power, political influence, ownership and praise. His message of simplicity forms the emotional and spiritual foundation of the narrative.
The connection with Kainchi Dham also plays an important role in the broader identity of the story, given the shrine’s association with Neem Karoli Baba and his followers.
With its spiritual theme, Hanuman Ansh has found an audience beyond conventional commercial cinema, particularly among viewers drawn to stories about faith, devotion and Indian spiritual traditions.
Strong Word of Mouth Drives Attention
The film’s journey from a modest opening to a reported Rs 143.13 crore collection highlights the role of audience recommendations in its box-office performance.
The recent meetings with the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Chief Ministers have further increased attention around the movie, while the film’s spiritual subject continues to remain its primary point of interest.
As Hanuman Ansh continues its theatrical run, its performance is being closely watched, particularly given the growing audience response to its portrayal of one of India’s widely revered spiritual figures.
