Marking 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised press conferences across the country to showcase its achievements in welfare, infrastructure and governance.
In Bhubaneswar, Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi highlighted the accomplishments of both the Central and State governments.
Meghwal stated that the implementation of welfare schemes has accelerated significantly since Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office in 2014. He said nearly four crore families have benefited under the PM Awas Yojana, while around 11 crore farmers have received assistance through the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
The Union Minister also claimed that infrastructure expenditure has increased sixfold over the past decade, contributing to improved connectivity, public services and economic growth across the country.
BJP leaders further noted that Prime Minister Modi is on course to become India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister, surpassing the tenure of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
Ahead of the completion of one year of Odisha’s BJP-led double-engine government on June 12, Chief Minister Majhi highlighted several development initiatives undertaken by the state administration.
According to the Chief Minister, Odisha’s railway budget allocation has reached ₹10,928 crore, while national highway projects worth ₹80,000 crore have been approved, with work currently underway on 230 projects across the state.
Majhi also claimed that Odisha ranks first in the country in creating “Lakhpati Didis” and stated that nearly 50,000 jobs have been provided to tackle unemployment. State BJP President Manmohan Samal said the party has already fulfilled several promises made in its election manifesto and is working to complete the remaining commitments on priority.
In a message shared on X, Prime Minister Modi said his government has remained committed to trust, development and public welfare over the last 12 years, with a focus on empowering youth, women and farmers while enhancing India’s global standing.
Highlighting Odisha’s progress, Chief Minister Majhi said the state’s development is being strengthened through Centre-State cooperation, adding that Odisha is now thinking beyond local growth and moving towards a broader global outlook.
