Bhubaneswar: Passengers planning to travel between Howrah and Puri on June 9 will need to make alternative arrangements as the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has cancelled the Howrah–Puri–Howrah Shatabdi Express due to the delayed arrival of a link train.
According to an official notification issued by the railway authorities, Train No. 12278 Puri–Howrah Shatabdi Express will remain cancelled on June 9. Similarly, Train No. 12277 Howrah–Puri Shatabdi Express has also been cancelled for the same day.
Railway officials stated that the premium service could not be operated because the delay in the link train disrupted the scheduled movement of the rake required for the Shatabdi Express.
The cancellation is expected to affect a large number of passengers travelling between Odisha and West Bengal, particularly tourists, business travellers and pilgrims heading to or returning from Puri.
The Howrah–Puri Shatabdi Express is among the most preferred and fastest rail services connecting Howrah and Puri, offering a convenient travel option for daily commuters and visitors.
Railway authorities have advised passengers to check train schedules and running status before commencing their journey. Travellers can obtain the latest updates through the official National Train Enquiry System (NTES) and other railway information platforms.
The Railways has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and urged passengers to plan their travel accordingly in view of the temporary disruption.
