SIR Awareness Rally Held in Chatrapur: Ganjam District Administration Intensifies Voter Awareness Drive

Chatrapur: In a major initiative aimed at strengthening the electoral process and ensuring a transparent, accurate, and inclusive voter database, the Ganjam district administration organized a large-scale Special Intensive Revision (SIR) awareness rally in Chatrapur on Friday.

The awareness march commenced from the District Collector’s office premises and passed through several important roads and public areas of the town before concluding at the Circuit House. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from government officials, Booth Level Officers (BLOs), teachers, intellectuals, senior citizens, and members of the general public.

The campaign was led by Ganjam Collector Shri V. Keerthivasan, who participated alongside Additional District Magistrate Devadatta Panda, Chatrapur Sub-Collector Shivashish Baral, Deputy Collector (Election) Dr. Ashok Kumar Khanda, Chatrapur Tehsildar Dibya Mahanti, Additional Sub-Collector Partha Sarathi Hansda, and Chatrapur Municipality Executive Officer Prasanna Kumar Dash.

During the rally, officials spread awareness regarding the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process of electoral rolls. Citizens were informed about the importance of correcting voter details, adding new eligible voters to the electoral list, and rectifying any discrepancies in existing records.

The district administration also urged residents to actively cooperate with Booth Level Officers during the voter verification and revision process to ensure the preparation of an error-free electoral roll.

Speaking on the occasion, Collector Shri V. Keerthivasan emphasized that a clean, updated, and accurate voter list forms the backbone of a healthy democracy. He appealed to the people of the district to provide genuine and correct information during the revision process and support the election machinery in conducting fair and transparent elections.

The awareness rally reflected the administration’s commitment to increasing voter participation and promoting democratic responsibility among citizens. Officials stated that similar awareness initiatives would continue across the district to encourage greater public involvement in the electoral process.

The Special Intensive Revision campaign is considered a crucial step ahead of upcoming elections, ensuring that every eligible citizen gets an opportunity to exercise their democratic right through accurate voter registration.
