A major fire broke out in a private passenger bus travelling from Bhubaneswar to Malkangiri in the early hours of Saturday, triggering panic among passengers. The incident occurred near Rambhadrapuram in Andhra Pradesh, close to the Odisha border.

Fire Breaks Out at 3 AM

According to preliminary reports, the bus caught fire at around 3:00 AM, allegedly due to a suspected short circuit. The flames spread rapidly, engulfing the vehicle within minutes and filling it with dense smoke.

Passengers Evacuate in Time

Thanks to the quick response of the driver and alert passengers, all 35 passengers, including the MLA, were safely evacuated without any injuries, averting a potential tragedy.

Bus Reduced to Ashes

The fire completely gutted the bus, reducing it to a charred shell before fire services personnel could bring the blaze under control. Local authorities and emergency teams rushed to the spot and managed to douse the flames.

Alternate Arrangements Made

Authorities arranged an alternative bus to ensure passengers could continue their journey to Malkangiri without further inconvenience.
