Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri Wins Miss World 2025 – Nation’s First-Ever Victory

In a historic moment, Opal Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand has been crowned Miss World 2025, marking Thailand’s first-ever win at the prestigious global beauty pageant. The grand finale took place on Saturday in Hyderabad, Telangana, with Chuangsri triumphing over 106 contestants from across the globe.

She edged out Hasset Dereje Admassu of Ethiopia, who finished as the runner-up.

A Night of Grace and Symbolism

Chuangsri made a powerful statement during the crowning ceremony, donning a stunning white gown adorned with opal-like florals. The dress symbolized healing and strength, mirroring her journey and message. She was crowned by Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic, the outgoing Miss World 2024.

This year’s pageant saw a blend of cultural elegance and global unity, with contestants from over 100 nations. Chuangsri’s win is not only a personal triumph but also a proud moment for Thailand, a country that has long awaited a Miss World crown.

India Misses the Mark in 2025

India’s representative, Nandini Gupta, did not make it to the Top 8 this year. The country, which has previously won the Miss World title six times, had high hopes following Sini Shetty’s Top 8 finish in 2024.

The 2025 edition was the second consecutive Miss World event held in India, a return after a 28-year gap before 2024. Last year, Krystyna Pyszkova secured the crown, surpassing strong contenders such as Yasmina Zaytoun (Lebanon), Ache Abrahams (Trinidad and Tobago), and Lesego Chombo (Botswana).

A New Era for Thailand

Opal Suchata Chuangsri’s crowning is expected to inspire a new generation of Thai women. Her blend of elegance, intellect, and empathy made her a standout throughout the competition. As the new Miss World, she will take on global humanitarian responsibilities while representing values of empowerment, resilience, and global unity.
