Commercial LPG Cylinder Price Hiked by ₹62.50 From October 1; Domestic Rates Unchanged

New Delhi: Commercial LPG cylinders have become costlier across India from October 1, with the latest price revision coming just ahead of the festive season.

The increase is expected to affect businesses that depend heavily on commercial LPG for their day-to-day operations, particularly hotels, restaurants, dhabas, catering businesses and other food establishments.

19-Kg Commercial LPG Cylinder Gets Costlier

The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has reportedly been increased by ₹62.50 in Delhi.

Following the revision, the price of the cylinder in the national capital has reached ₹2,810.

The latest increase comes at a time when food and hospitality businesses typically experience higher demand due to the festive season.

For establishments that use multiple commercial cylinders regularly, the price increase could add to their operating expenses.

Commercial LPG Rates Were Unchanged in September

The latest revision follows a period of stable commercial LPG prices.

Commercial cylinder rates were unchanged in September, before the latest increase came into effect from October 1.

The monthly revisions in commercial LPG prices are closely watched by businesses because changes in cooking fuel costs can affect their overall operating expenses.

Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices Remain Unchanged

There has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders used by household consumers.

As a result, domestic consumers will continue to pay the existing price for their household LPG cylinders following the October 1 revision.

The latest increase is therefore applicable to the commercial 19-kg LPG cylinder category, rather than domestic LPG cylinders.

Impact on Hotels and Food Businesses

Hotels, restaurants, roadside eateries, dhabas and catering establishments are among the businesses likely to feel the immediate impact of the increase.

Commercial LPG is widely used by such establishments for cooking and other daily operations. A higher cylinder price could increase their fuel expenditure, particularly for businesses with high LPG consumption.

With the festive season underway, the timing of the increase could be significant for food and hospitality businesses preparing for higher customer demand.

The latest price revision means commercial LPG users will need to account for the additional fuel cost from October 1, while household LPG consumers remain unaffected by this particular increase.
