Kakatpur’s Snigdhamayee Swain Cracks OCS 2024 In First Attempt, Secures Rank 59

Snigdhamayee Swain has achieved success in the prestigious Odisha Civil Services (OCS)-2024 examination by clearing it in her very first attempt and securing Rank 59.

The results of the examination were announced by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on Tuesday.

Hailing from Kakatpur in Odisha, Snigdhamayee expressed happiness and satisfaction over her achievement, stating that her success was the outcome of disciplined preparation and a clear study strategy developed over nearly two-and-a-half years.

Focused Preparation Helped Her Succeed

Speaking about her preparation journey, Snigdhamayee Swain said she adopted an integrated approach for both the preliminary and main examinations.

She maintained a disciplined study routine of six to seven hours daily and emphasised that consistency and proper planning played a major role in helping her crack the examination in her first attempt.

According to her, self-study remained the foundation of her preparation strategy.

Snigdhamayee also highlighted the effective use of social media and online learning resources during her preparation.

She said digital platforms helped her access study materials, improve conceptual understanding and stay updated with important topics relevant to the civil services examination.

She encouraged aspirants to focus on smart learning methods alongside traditional preparation techniques.

Family Support Played A Crucial Role

Snigdhamayee Swain credited her success to the continuous support and encouragement she received from her parents, aunt, uncle and close friends throughout her preparation journey.

She also expressed gratitude to God and thanked her well-wishers for motivating her during difficult phases of preparation.

After completing her graduation, she was inspired by one of her friends to pursue a career in civil services, a decision that eventually led to her success in the OCS examination.

Aspires To Join Revenue Department

With Rank 59 in the OCS-2024 examination, Snigdhamayee said she remains hopeful of securing a position in the Revenue Department.

Offering advice to future aspirants, she urged candidates to stay patient, remain self-motivated and follow a structured strategy while preparing for competitive examinations.
