Veteran actor Prakash Raj is mourning the loss of his mother, Suvarnalatha, who passed away at the age of 86 after battling age-related health issues. The news of her demise was confirmed by actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who expressed his condolences through a message on social media.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, Pawan Kalyan conveyed his sympathies to Prakash Raj and his family during this difficult time.
“I am deeply saddened to learn that the mother of the renowned actor Shri @prakashraaj, Smt. Suvarnalatha Garu, has passed away. I pray to the Almighty that her soul attains eternal peace. I extend my deepest condolences to Shri Prakash Raj Garu, who is grieving the loss of his mother, and to all the members of his family,” he wrote.

Prakash Raj Earlier Spoke About His Mother’s Health Struggles
Prakash Raj had previously spoken publicly about his mother’s health challenges, particularly a brain cyst that required surgery, which significantly affected her memory.
While speaking at the International Symposium on Dementia in 2018, the actor shared how the surgery led to severe memory loss, making it difficult for her to recognise even close family members.
“I was supposed to play the role of an Alzheimer’s patient in a film and visited Nightingales for research. Around that time, something similar happened to my mother. She was not an Alzheimer’s patient but had a cyst in her brain. Three days after surgery, she forgot her sister and her son,” he had recalled.
The actor also mentioned how the experience deeply affected him, prompting him to reconnect his mother with people from her past. “I would bring her old school friends to speak with her,” he had said.
