A fresh weather system developing over the Andaman Sea has raised concerns about the possibility of another spell of intense rainfall along the Odisha coast.
According to the latest weather assessment, an active cyclonic circulation over northern Thailand has moved westwards and entered the Andaman Sea. The system is expected to become more organised and may develop into a low-pressure area by Saturday evening.
However, it is too early to determine whether the system will eventually intensify into a cyclonic storm. Meteorological conditions, including the system’s organisation, movement and intensity, will become clearer after the low-pressure area forms.
Weather System Likely To Move Towards Odisha-Andhra Coast
After developing into a low-pressure area, the system is expected to move west-northwestwards.
There is a possibility that the system could subsequently intensify into a depression and move towards the coastal areas of southern Odisha and northern Andhra Pradesh.

Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar are likely to receive heavy rainfall, while several other districts could experience light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
The weather system is expected to influence atmospheric conditions across the state even before its eventual movement towards the southern Odisha-northern Andhra coast.
Southern Odisha May See Another Spell Of Rain
If the developing system continues to strengthen and follows the projected west-northwestward track, southern Odisha could receive another spell of rainfall over the next three to four days.
