Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has taken a significant step towards strengthening the state’s digital infrastructure by inviting Expressions of Interest (EoI) from developers for a proposed IT Park at Damana Square in Bhubaneswar.
The initiative is being spearheaded by the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) under the Electronics and Information Technology (E&IT) Department, which has issued the EoI to identify prospective developers for the ambitious project.
25-Acre Campus Planned at Damana Square
The proposed IT Park will be developed on a 25-acre parcel of land owned by the General Administration Department.
According to officials, the current EoI exercise is intended to gauge market interest and gather feedback from potential developers before the project advances to the next stage of implementation.
The project forms part of the state’s broader vision to transform Bhubaneswar into a leading technology and innovation destination.
Modern ‘Walk-to-Work’ Technology Hub
The proposed campus has been envisioned as a modern “Walk-to-Work” ecosystem that seamlessly integrates office, residential, commercial, and recreational spaces.
Spread across an estimated 45 lakh square feet of built-up area, nearly 70 per cent of the development will be dedicated to Information Technology (IT) and IT-enabled Services (ITeS) operations, while the remaining space will be utilised for mixed-use infrastructure.
The integrated design aims to provide professionals with a live-work environment, reducing commuting time while promoting a sustainable urban lifestyle.
Strategic Location to Strengthen Bhubaneswar’s IT Corridor
Strategically located approximately 3 kilometres from Infocity and around 23 kilometres from Infovalley, the proposed IT Park is expected to further strengthen Bhubaneswar’s expanding technology corridor.
Officials believe the project will complement the city’s existing IT ecosystem and enhance its attractiveness as a destination for technology companies, startups, and global enterprises.
Future-Ready Infrastructure to Drive Investment
The selected developer will be responsible for designing and constructing a world-class technology campus equipped with modern infrastructure and sustainable amenities.
The proposed development will feature:
- IT and ITeS office towers
- Incubation and co-working spaces
- Retail and commercial outlets
- Hospitality facilities
- Service apartments
- High-speed digital infrastructure
- Green landscaping
- Sustainable utility systems
The integrated campus is expected to create a vibrant ecosystem that supports innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration while enhancing the overall quality of life for professionals working in the technology sector.
Boost to Odisha’s Digital Economy
The proposed IT Park is expected to attract fresh investments, encourage startup growth, generate large-scale employment opportunities, and reinforce Odisha’s position as an emerging technology destination.
With the state witnessing rapid expansion in digital infrastructure and IT investments, the Damana Square project is poised to become another key milestone in Bhubaneswar’s journey towards becoming one of India’s leading technology hubs.
