An active low-pressure system over the region continues to influence weather conditions across Odisha, bringing widespread rainfall to several parts of the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Warning for 15 districts on Monday, cautioning residents about heavy rainfall at isolated places over the next 24 hours.
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, the affected districts are likely to receive 7 cm to 11 cm of rainfall, with the heaviest showers expected in the interior and southern parts of the state. Authorities have advised people living in vulnerable areas to remain alert as continuous rainfall may lead to waterlogging, reduced visibility, and localized disruptions.

- Keonjhar
- Mayurbhanj
These districts are expected to witness heavy rainfall at isolated locations, with residents advised to monitor weather updates and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense rain.
Heavy Rain To Continue Over The Next 24 Hours
The IMD has forecast that the active low-pressure system will continue to influence Odisha’s weather during the next 24 hours. Several interior and southern districts are likely to experience intermittent heavy showers accompanied by overcast skies.
While no widespread flood warning has been issued, continuous rainfall could lead to localized waterlogging in low-lying areas, temporary traffic disruptions, and a rise in water levels in small rivers and streams. Farmers and residents in vulnerable locations have been advised to exercise caution.
Rainfall Expected To Reduce From Tomorrow
Meteorologists have indicated that the low-pressure system is likely to weaken gradually from Tuesday, leading to a reduction in rainfall intensity across the state.
Only six districts remain under rainfall warning for the following day, while no weather alerts have been issued for the remaining districts, indicating that conditions are expected to improve significantly after the current spell.
The IMD expects rainfall activity to decline steadily across most parts of Odisha, bringing relief after several days of wet weather. However, isolated showers may continue in some regions as the monsoon remains active.
The Regional Meteorological Centre has advised residents to stay updated with official weather bulletins and follow local administration advisories, especially in districts currently under the Yellow Warning.
