Bhooth Bangla Set for Strong Opening as Advance Bookings and Previews Impress

The much-awaited reunion of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after 14 years is already creating waves at the box office, with Bhooth Bangla showing strong early trends ahead of its theatrical release.

Impressive Advance Booking Numbers

The horror-comedy has generated solid momentum through advance sales, defying the usual trend where films in this genre see modest pre-release bookings. According to trade estimates, Bhooth Bangla sold around 1.3 lakh tickets for its opening day, collecting approximately ₹3.32 crore in gross advance bookings.

These figures have positioned the film for a potential double-digit opening, making it one of the strongest contenders at the box office this year, second only to Dhurandhar 2 in terms of opening buzz.

Paid Previews Add to Momentum

The film also benefited from paid preview shows, a strategy that has gained traction recently. Preview screenings began at 9 PM on April 16, a day before release.

Despite limited screenings, Bhooth Bangla managed to collect an impressive ₹3.50 crore net from previews alone—exceeding expectations and boosting its overall opening prospects.

Strong Buzz Around Reunion

The collaboration between Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan, known for delivering popular comedy hits in the past, has been a major factor driving audience interest. The film’s trailer, packed with humour and spooky elements, has further heightened anticipation.

Box Office Outlook

With strong advance bookings, positive preview numbers, and high audience curiosity, Bhooth Bangla is expected to register one of the biggest openings for a Bollywood film in 2026 so far.

If the film sustains positive word-of-mouth, it could emerge as a major success in the horror-comedy genre.
