Mumbai: In a profound loss to Indian music and cinema, legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday at the age of 92. The iconic artist, whose voice defined generations of music lovers, breathed her last at Breach Candy Hospital, where she had been undergoing treatment.
Dr. Pratit Samdani confirmed that the singer died due to multi-organ failure. She had been admitted to the hospital on Saturday evening after experiencing severe exhaustion and a chest infection.
Earlier, her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle had shared an update on social media, informing fans about her hospitalisation and requesting privacy for the family during the difficult time.
