Odisha Prepares for Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan’s Visit on January 23

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has intensified preparations for the scheduled visit of Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan on January 23, aiming to ensure that all official engagements are conducted smoothly, securely, and without any disruption. A high-level preparatory meeting was convened at Lok Seva Bhavan under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anu Garg, reflecting the importance attached to the Vice-President’s visit to the state.

Senior officials from multiple departments, including Home, General Administration, Police, Transport, Health, and Information & Public Relations, attended the meeting. Detailed deliberations were held on security deployment, traffic management, logistics, protocol arrangements, and coordination among various agencies to ensure seamless execution of the itinerary. The Chief Secretary directed all departments to work in close coordination and adhere strictly to established protocols.

Arrival and Participation in Parakram Diwas Events

According to the official programme, Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan will arrive at Bhubaneswar airport at 8:50 am on January 23. From there, he will proceed to Cuttack to participate in events marking the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, observed across the country as Parakram Diwas. The occasion holds national significance as it commemorates the life, courage, and ideals of one of India’s most revered freedom fighters.

During his visit to Cuttack, the Vice-President is scheduled to visit the Netaji Museum, a landmark institution dedicated to preserving and showcasing the contributions of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose to India’s freedom struggle. His visit is expected to draw attention to the museum’s role in educating younger generations about India’s independence movement.

In addition, the Vice-President will inaugurate the District Culture Bhavan in Cuttack. The inauguration underscores the Odisha government’s continued emphasis on strengthening cultural infrastructure and promoting regional art, heritage, and traditions at the district level.

Administrative Readiness and Security Measures

The state administration has made it clear that comprehensive security arrangements will be in place throughout the Vice-President’s movement, from arrival to departure. Senior police officials have been instructed to ensure adequate deployment of forces, smooth traffic regulation, and coordination with central security agencies. Health and emergency services will also remain on standby as part of the standard protocol for VVIP visits.

Departure Schedule

After completing his official engagements in Cuttack, Vice-President Radhakrishnan will attend a luncheon at the Chief Secretary’s Lok Bhavan. He is scheduled to return to Bhubaneswar airport thereafter and depart for Kolkata at 2:15 pm the same day.

State officials have reiterated that all necessary arrangements are being meticulously planned to ensure the Vice-President’s visit proceeds in an orderly, dignified, and hassle-free manner, reflecting Odisha’s administrative preparedness and commitment to protocol.
