Mishran Parv Sparks BJP Surge in Chatrapur

Chatrapur witnessed a major political shift today as the long-standing speculation of the past two months ended with a grand Mishran Parv (Mass Induction Festival) organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), marking one year of the party’s government in Odisha. The event, held at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Mini Stadium in Ganjam town, saw a significant number of grassroots leaders formally joining the BJP under the leadership of Chatrapur MLA Krushna Chandra Nayak.

Among the key entrants into the party were Ganjam Block Chairperson Sharmistha Pradhan, her husband and former Block Chairperson Surath Pahan, and several elected representatives including Sarpanchs and Samiti Members from various panchayats. They were welcomed into the BJP fold with party caps and uttariyas in a ceremony coordinated by former Block Chairperson and BJP District Secretary Prashant Kumar Nayak.

Prominent among the new members were:

  • Kaichhapur Sarpanch R. Chandana Reddy
  • Samiti Member Jayakrishna Reddy
  • Former Block Vice-Chairman R. Bhagirathi Reddy
  • Palibandha Sarpanch Sanyukta Pradhan and Deputy Sarpanch Krushna Chandra Pradhan
  • Santoshpur Sarpanch Kabita Sahu and Samiti Member Kabita Renthi
  • Malada Sarpanch Mamata Behera and Samiti Member Bishnupriya Mahapatra
  • Palanga Sarpanch Rajashree Gouda
  • Youth leader Lingaraj Mahapatra, among others.

The event was graced by BJP Ganjam District President Saroj Sabat, former Deputy Speaker Ramchandra Panda, Padma Charan Sahu, and Chairpersons of Chatrapur, Ganjam, and Rambha NACs. ATMA Chairperson Raghunath Sahu, BJP State OBEC Morcha Treasurer Santosh Mahapatra, SC Morcha District President Kirtan Das, Bar Association President Pradip Kumar Padhi, Humma Samiti Member Dhruva Charan Palai, former Zilla Parishad Member Rashmirani Mahapatra, and former Mandal President Kantari Dalai also attended the program.

The newcomers were given a grand welcome as BJP workers held a massive rally from Triveni Math Chhak to the event venue, showcasing the growing support for the party in the region.

This political shift is seen as a major boost for the BJP in Ganjam district, and especially for MLA Krushna Chandra Nayak, whose leadership continues to strengthen the party’s grassroots base in Chatrapur.
