IndiGo to Start Direct Bhubaneswar-Pune Flight From October 25

Bhubaneswar: Air connectivity between Bhubaneswar and Pune is set to improve as IndiGo will launch a new direct flight service between Biju Patnaik International Airport and Pune from October 25.

The airline will operate the service daily, providing passengers with another direct travel option between Odisha’s capital and the Maharashtra city.

Daily Flight to Operate With Airbus A320

According to airline sources, the new Bhubaneswar-Pune service will be operated using an Airbus A320 aircraft.

The addition of Pune to IndiGo’s network will take the number of destinations directly connected by the airline from Bhubaneswar to 15.

The new service is expected to benefit passengers travelling between Odisha and Maharashtra, particularly those travelling for business, education, employment and other purposes.

Pune to Have Two Direct Flights From Bhubaneswar

With the launch of IndiGo’s service, passengers travelling from Bhubaneswar to Pune will have two direct flight options.

The other direct service on the route is operated by Air India Express. The additional IndiGo flight is expected to provide greater flexibility for passengers and strengthen air connectivity between the two cities.

Bhubaneswar Connected to 21 Destinations

The airport’s overall connectivity has also improved following the resumption of flights to Jharsuguda and Dubai.

Bhubaneswar’s connected destinations had declined from 30 to 19 during the summer schedule. With the restoration of services to Jharsuguda and Dubai, the airport currently has connectivity to 21 destinations, including one international destination.

Airport sources said that the Pune flight is so far the only major addition under the winter schedule, while domestic services to some destinations that were discontinued during the summer schedule are yet to resume.

The launch of the new Pune service is expected to further strengthen Bhubaneswar’s air connectivity and provide passengers with more travel options during the upcoming winter schedule.
