Star Air, the aviation arm of the Sanjay Ghodawat Group, is set to expand its regional flight network with 24 additional weekly services across Odisha and other parts of Eastern India, strengthening air connectivity for passengers in the region.
As part of the expansion, the airline will introduce a direct Hyderabad-Bhubaneswar flight and restore the Bhubaneswar-Jharsuguda air service. Both routes are scheduled to begin operations from September 4.
Direct Hyderabad-Bhubaneswar Flight To Begin
The new Hyderabad-Bhubaneswar service is expected to provide passengers with a direct travel option between Telangana and Odisha, reducing the need for connecting flights.
The expansion is also aimed at improving access to Bhubaneswar, Odisha’s capital, for passengers travelling from Hyderabad and surrounding areas.
Star Air said the newly announced services are part of its broader strategy to strengthen regional connectivity and provide more direct travel options between important cities.
Bhubaneswar-Jharsuguda Route To Resume
Along with the new Hyderabad connection, Star Air will also reinstate flights between Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda from September 4.
The restoration of the route is expected to benefit passengers travelling between coastal Odisha and the state’s western region. Jharsuguda is an important commercial and industrial centre and serves as a key air connectivity point for western Odisha.
The additional services could provide greater flexibility for both business and leisure travellers.
24 Additional Weekly Flights
According to the airline, the expansion will add 24 weekly flights to its regional network across Odisha and Eastern India.
Star Air Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer Shilpa Bhatia said the new services would further strengthen connectivity between Telangana and Odisha.
“With the introduction of Hyderabad-Bhubaneswar flights and reinstatement of Bhubaneswar-Jharsuguda services, we are strengthening connectivity for Telangana and Odisha,” Bhatia said.
The airline’s latest move comes as regional aviation continues to play an important role in connecting cities beyond India’s major metropolitan hubs.
