Day Temperatures in Odisha to Rise by 2–3°C Later This Week, Says IMD

The maximum temperature across Odisha is expected to remain largely unchanged over the next two days, after which a gradual increase of 2–3°C is likely during the following three days, according to the latest forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar said on Monday that no major change in daytime temperatures is expected initially across the districts of the state, though a gradual warming trend may develop later in the week.

Temperature Trend Forecast

As per the weather forecast, the maximum temperature will remain stable in the short term, before witnessing a slight rise during the subsequent days. The predicted 2–3°C increase in daytime temperature could lead to warmer conditions across several parts of the state while overall weather patterns are expected to remain largely stable.

Highest and Lowest Temperatures

Among the plains of Odisha, Jharsuguda recorded the highest maximum temperature at 37.6°C in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the lowest minimum temperature was reported in Rayagada at 17.4°C, indicating relatively cooler night conditions in parts of southern Odisha.

Light Rainfall in Some Areas

During the same period, light rainfall activity was reported at a few locations. In Chandbali, trace rainfall of less than 0.1 mm was recorded. Similarly, trace rainfall was also observed at the Keonjhar station.

Temperature in Capital Region

In the capital city of Bhubaneswar, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33.7°C, while the minimum temperature stood at 23.4°C.

Nearby Cuttack recorded a maximum temperature of 32.4°C and a minimum temperature of 21.8°C during the same period.

Meteorologists said the temperature pattern indicates generally stable weather conditions across Odisha, with a slight warming trend expected later this week.
