Amit Shah to Visit Odisha on March 5–6; CISF Raising Day, NFSU Foundation Stone Among Key Events

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit Odisha on a two-day official tour beginning March 5, during which he will participate in a series of government programmes across Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Jatani.

According to the official itinerary, Shah will arrive at the Bhubaneswar airport on the evening of March 5. His engagements are scheduled for March 6, covering major institutional and security-related events in the state.

CISF Raising Day Programme in Cuttack

On the morning of March 6, the Union Home Minister will attend the CISF Raising Day ceremony at Mundali in Cuttack. The event marks the foundation day of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and is observed annually with ceremonial parades and official addresses.

The programme is expected to witness participation from senior security officials and dignitaries, highlighting the role of CISF in safeguarding critical infrastructure and industrial establishments across the country.

Foundation Stones for NFSU and CFSL at Jatani

In the afternoon, Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone for the Odisha campus of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) at Jatani. He will also virtually inaugurate the NFSU transit campus.

The establishment of these institutions is aimed at strengthening forensic education, research and investigative capacity in eastern India, and enhancing scientific support to law enforcement agencies.

Naveen Nyaya Samhita Exhibition and Project Inaugurations

Later in the day, the Home Minister will inaugurate the Naveen Nyaya Samhita exhibition at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar. The event will also include the laying of foundation stones and inauguration of projects related to the Cooperation Department and other state departments.

The programmes are expected to underline the Centre’s focus on legal reforms, cooperative sector development and infrastructure expansion in the state.

Preparations in Full Swing

Extensive administrative and security arrangements have been put in place for the high-profile visit. A preparatory review meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary was conducted to ensure smooth coordination among departments and law enforcement agencies.

Officials said all necessary logistical and security measures are being undertaken to facilitate the Union Home Minister’s engagements across the state.
