In a major step to streamline citizen support and improve complaint resolution related to Aadhaar services, the Department of Electronics and Information Technology has announced the launch of dedicated in-person grievance hearings starting February 16. The new mechanism is intended to offer applicants a structured platform to resolve Aadhaar-related issues through direct interaction with designated officials.
The hearings will focus on complaints linked to Aadhaar enrolment, demographic updates, correction requests, authentication failures, and other service-level difficulties faced by residents.
Online Registration Mandatory Before Hearing
Officials said that citizens must first register their Aadhaar-related complaints online through the official portal of the Odisha Computer Application Centre before attending the hearing. After submitting the complaint, applicants will receive a registration acknowledgement receipt, which is compulsory for appearing before the grievance panel.
Without prior online registration and acknowledgement proof, walk-in complaints will not be entertained under the new system.
Hearings to Be Held Every Monday
The grievance hearings will take place at the OCAC Tower grievance cell on the ground floor, beginning at 10:30 AM on every government working Monday. Authorities have advised complainants to reach the venue on time and carry all relevant documents along with the acknowledgement receipt to facilitate faster disposal of cases.
The department said the initiative is aimed at reducing delays, improving accountability, and ensuring that Aadhaar service issues are reviewed and resolved in a time-bound manner.
Focus on Faster Aadhaar Service Resolution
The new hearing framework is expected to help citizens who face persistent problems in Aadhaar data correction, mobile number updates, biometric authentication errors, and enrolment record mismatches. By enabling face-to-face hearings, officials hope to speed up verification and decision-making in complex cases.
Residents experiencing unresolved Aadhaar service problems have been encouraged to use the online registration system and appear before the grievance cell to obtain formal redressal.
