Balasore: The sighting of five unusual animals resembling orangutans inside the Bichitrapur forest under Bhograi block of Odisha’s Balasore district has created considerable curiosity among local residents and prompted the Forest Department to investigate their identity and origin.
The animals were reportedly spotted moving through the forested area on Tuesday. After news of the unusual sighting spread, a large number of people gathered near the location, with several residents recording photographs and videos as the animals moved among the trees.
Following the alert, Forest Department officials reached the area and rescued all five animals. They were subsequently taken to a veterinary hospital, where their health and physical condition are being examined.
Species Identity Yet to Be Established
Although the animals have been widely described by locals as orangutans because of their appearance, authorities have not yet officially confirmed their species.
