Indian Idol 16 Winner Jyotirmayee Nayak Receives Grand Welcome in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Fresh off her victory in Indian Idol Season 16, Odisha’s Jyotirmayee Nayak received a warm welcome on Monday as she arrived at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar. Fans, well-wishers, and media personnel gathered at the airport to congratulate the singer, whose triumph has become a moment of pride for the state.

Jyotirmayee emerged as the winner of the national singing reality show after delivering consistently impressive performances throughout the competition.

Wins Indian Idol 16 Title

Jyotirmayee Nayak clinched the coveted Indian Idol Season 16 trophy by defeating fellow finalists Anshika Chonkar, Manraj Veer Singh, Myscmme Bosu, Suhail Sufi, and Tanishk Shukla.

As the winner, she received the Indian Idol 16 trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 20 lakh.

‘Lord Jagannath’s Blessings Made This Possible’

Speaking to reporters after arriving in Bhubaneswar, Jyotirmayee reflected on her journey and credited Lord Jagannath for guiding her through every challenge.

“My journey has never been straight; it has been full of twists and turns. Whatever I have achieved today is because of the blessings of Lord Jagannath. Life is filled with victories and setbacks, but it is important to keep working hard and never give up. One day, your hard work will surely be rewarded,” she said.

She also expressed gratitude to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi for congratulating her following her victory.

Reflecting on her experience during the competition, Jyotirmayee said one of her most cherished memories came when judge Shreya Ghoshal introduced her on stage.

She recalled that Shreya began the introduction with “Jai Jagannath” before calling her a “national superstar,” a moment she described as surreal and unforgettable.

Throughout the season, Jyotirmayee impressed both judges and audiences with her versatile performances. The judging panel included renowned singers Shreya Ghoshal and Vishal Dadlani.

Taking Time for Future Projects

Speaking about her future plans, Jyotirmayee said she intends to move forward thoughtfully rather than rushing into new projects.

She said she has several plans for her musical career but wants to take sufficient time to ensure her upcoming work is meaningful, successful, and well received by audiences.
