In a significant step towards promoting technology-driven entrepreneurship in Odisha, Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur, in collaboration with Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, has launched the AI4Odisha initiative to encourage the adoption of artificial intelligence among MSMEs, traders and local entrepreneurs across the state.
The initiative was formally unveiled during a workshop titled “AI for Business Growth: From Local Markets to National Reach”, which attracted participation from more than 350 industry representatives, startup founders, business owners, researchers and academicians. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan virtually inaugurated the programme and highlighted the growing importance of AI in strengthening India’s economic and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
AI To Drive Growth Of Odisha’s MSME Sector
The AI4Odisha initiative aims to help small and medium enterprises integrate artificial intelligence and digital technologies into their business operations. The programme is expected to assist businesses in improving productivity, enhancing customer engagement, streamlining supply chain management and expanding their market reach beyond local boundaries.
Experts associated with the initiative believe that AI-powered tools can enable entrepreneurs to better understand consumer behaviour, automate repetitive tasks, reduce operational costs and make data-driven decisions for business expansion.
