Amit Shah to Visit Odisha Today, Attend CISF Raising Day and Launch Key Development Projects

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Odisha on Friday to attend several official programmes in Cuttack, Jatani and Bhubaneswar. During the visit, the senior leader will take part in the 57th Raising Day celebrations of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and inaugurate multiple development initiatives aimed at strengthening infrastructure and institutional facilities in the state.

CISF Raising Day Celebration

Shah’s engagements will begin with his participation in the 57th Raising Day programme of the Central Industrial Security Force at Mundali in Cuttack. The annual event commemorates the formation of the force and is marked by ceremonial parades, official addresses, and tributes to the contributions of CISF personnel in safeguarding critical installations and national infrastructure across the country.

Foundation Stone for Forensic Institutions

Later in the day, the Union Home Minister will travel to Jatani where he is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the upcoming campus of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL). These institutions are expected to strengthen forensic investigation capabilities and support the criminal justice system with advanced scientific expertise.

He will also virtually inaugurate the transit campus of the National Forensic Sciences University, which will function until the permanent campus becomes operational.

Major Industrial and Development Projects

During his Odisha visit, Shah will inaugurate the sulphuric acid plant at the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) unit in Paradip. The project is expected to enhance fertiliser production capacity and support agricultural activities in the region.

In addition, the Union Minister will inaugurate five major development projects across the country involving a combined investment of ₹889.31 crore, highlighting the government’s focus on strengthening infrastructure and industrial growth.

Exhibition and Cooperative Initiatives

In the evening, Shah will inaugurate the Naveen Nyaya Samhita exhibition at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar. The programme will also include foundation stone-laying and inauguration of several projects linked to the Cooperation Department and other government departments.

The Home Minister will further participate in the “White Revolution 2.0” programme, an initiative aimed at boosting dairy production through cooperative models while creating opportunities for youth and supporting farmers in rural areas.

Meanwhile, a Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita exhibition is being organised at the Unit-3 Exhibition Ground. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Shah and will remain open to the public from March 7 to March 10, showcasing reforms in the country’s criminal laws and judicial system.

Security Arrangements in Place

Authorities have made extensive administrative and security arrangements in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and surrounding areas to ensure the smooth conduct of the Home Minister’s visit. After completing his engagements, Shah is scheduled to return to New Delhi aboard a Border Security Force aircraft.
