Bhubaneswar: In a major step towards strengthening transparency, accountability and digital governance, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday launched a dedicated online review portal to monitor the progress of key infrastructure and development projects across the state. The new digital platform will provide real-time tracking and public access to project-related information, enabling better oversight and faster implementation.
The portal will cover a wide range of public utility and infrastructure projects, including roads, drinking water supply, sanitation systems, street lighting, parks, and community facilities, offering a comprehensive view of development activities at different levels of governance. Citizens and officials will now be able to access detailed project data with a single click, significantly improving transparency and public accountability.
Strengthening Monitoring and Accountability
Launching the portal, CM Majhi said the initiative is designed to ensure effective monitoring, timely execution, and responsible governance. He emphasized that real-time digital tracking will help prevent delays, improve coordination between departments, and enhance the quality of service delivery.
The platform will include projects funded under both the State Finance Commission (SFC) and the Central Finance Commission (CFC) grants, allowing for structured monitoring of fund utilization and development outcomes. Officials will be able to review progress at various implementation stages, ensuring that public money is used efficiently and transparently.
Sixth State Finance Commission Submits Final Report
During the event, the Sixth State Finance Commission submitted its final report to the Chief Minister. The report is expected to play a key role in shaping future fund allocation strategies, strengthening grassroots governance, and supporting sustainable local development across Odisha.
The commission’s recommendations are likely to guide financial planning for panchayats and urban local bodies, ensuring equitable distribution of resources and balanced regional growth.
Focus on Panchayat-Level Development
Emphasizing inclusive and people-centric development, CM Majhi highlighted the importance of transforming infrastructure at the panchayat level. He stated that development should not remain limited to urban centers but must directly improve the quality of life in rural and semi-urban areas as well.
He underlined that infrastructure projects should be designed to deliver tangible benefits to citizens, including better connectivity, improved sanitation, safe drinking water, reliable lighting, and accessible public spaces.
A Step Towards Digital Governance in Odisha
The launch of the review portal marks a significant milestone in Odisha’s journey towards digital governance and smart administration. By integrating technology into development monitoring, the state aims to accelerate project execution, reduce inefficiencies, and ensure timely delivery of public services.
The initiative is also expected to boost public trust in governance systems, as citizens gain direct visibility into government projects and development spending. With real-time data access and structured monitoring mechanisms, the portal is poised to become a key tool in Odisha’s development administration framework.
