Border 2 Storms Past ₹250 Crore Worldwide in Just Four Days, Sets Sights on ₹300 Crore Milestone

War epic Border 2 has scripted a sensational start at the global box office, crossing the ₹250 crore worldwide mark within just four days of its release. Riding on strong audience response, patriotic fervour over the extended Republic Day weekend, and powerful word-of-mouth publicity, the film has emerged as the biggest Bollywood opener of 2026 so far.

Starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, and directed by Anurag Singh, the film has shown exceptional momentum both domestically and overseas, positioning itself as one of the fastest films in recent years to breach the ₹250-crore global benchmark.

Explosive Opening Weekend Performance

Despite facing cancellations of several morning shows on Day 1, Border 2 opened strongly with a ₹30 crore net collection in India. What followed was a remarkable upward trajectory across the next three days. The film recorded consistent growth, benefiting from the long weekend and Republic Day holiday footfall.

On its fourth day, Republic Day, the film delivered a massive ₹59 crore domestic haul, marking one of the biggest single-day collections in recent times. With this, Border 2 closed its extended opening weekend with a ₹180 crore net collection in India, translating to approximately ₹212.5 crore gross at the domestic box office.

Strong Overseas Response Pushes Global Total Past ₹250 Crore

Internationally, the film has also performed impressively, especially in markets with a strong Indian diaspora. By the end of Sunday, the overseas box office collection stood at around $4.3 million, contributing significantly to the film’s global earnings.

With domestic and international figures combined, Border 2 has now amassed a global box office total of approximately ₹251 crore in just four days, cementing its position as a blockbuster in the making.

Surpasses Big-Ticket Films, Enters Elite Club

In achieving this milestone, Border 2 has become only the seventh Hindi film since last year to cross the ₹250-crore worldwide mark. The film has already overtaken the lifetime collections of several major releases, including:

  • Salman Khan’s Sikandar – ₹184 crore

  • Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 – ₹243 crore

This places Border 2 firmly among the top-performing Hindi films of the post-pandemic box office era.

On Track for ₹300 Crore Club

Trade analysts now project that the film is on course to enter the ₹300-crore global club by mid-week, possibly as early as Wednesday, provided the momentum continues through weekdays. With positive reviews, emotional connect, patriotic themes, and strong ensemble performances, the film is expected to sustain its theatrical run.

For lead actors Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, Border 2 marks a major box office milestone, delivering career-defining numbers and reinforcing the commercial power of war dramas in the Indian film market.

As audience footfalls remain strong and word-of-mouth continues to grow, Border 2 is now firmly positioned as one of the biggest box office success stories of 2026, with the potential to set new benchmarks in the weeks ahead.
