Thamma Box Office Collection Day 3: Ayushmann–Rashmika’s Horror Comedy Crosses ₹72 Crore Worldwide

Maddock Films’ latest entry in its Horror Comedy Universe, Thamma, continues its steady run at the box office after a strong Diwali debut. Despite expected drops over the following days, the film remains on course for a power-packed opening weekend, bolstered by positive word of mouth and family-friendly appeal.

Thamma Worldwide Box Office Update

By Thursday night, Thamma had collected an impressive ₹55.10 crore net (₹66 crore gross) in India. The film opened to a robust ₹24 crore on Diwali, followed by ₹18.60 crore and ₹12.50 crore on the next two days.

Internationally, the Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna starrer earned just under $700,000 (approx. ₹6 crore), taking its three-day global total to ₹72 crore.

With these figures, Thamma has already surpassed the lifetime collections of Kajol’s Maa (₹52 crore) and Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 4 (₹69 crore), emerging as a major success story for Maddock’s growing horror-comedy universe.

Weekend Hopes High

Trade analysts expect Thamma to bounce back over the weekend, benefitting from strong audience feedback and festive footfall. If the trend continues, the film is likely to cross the lifetime collections of Bhediya and Munjya in the coming days.

About Thamma

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Thamma stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna as betaals—Indian folklore-inspired vampire-like beings—on a mission to stop Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who plays a villain aiming for world domination.

The film connects to the broader Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU), linking it to earlier hits like Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya. Upon release, Thamma received largely positive reviews for its humor, performances, and unique mythological twist.
