Bhubaneswar: The deep depression over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal–north Odisha coast has triggered widespread heavy to very heavy rainfall across several parts of Odisha over the past 48 hours. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that rainfall activity will continue across the state till August 2, 2026, with multiple districts remaining under Red, Orange and Yellow weather warnings.
The weather system is expected to keep monsoon conditions active, raising the possibility of waterlogging, localised flooding, reduced visibility and traffic disruptions in several regions.

The IMD has issued a Red Warning for:

- Keonjhar
- Mayurbhanj
These districts are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall, with extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places.
